I am writing to highlight the importance of
Naloxone training for our local communities in the Town of Huntington. As the opioid crisis continues to change the landscape of our areas, affecting our
youth, families, businesses, and individuals across Long Island, it’s crucial that we equip ourselves with the knowledge and tools to save lives. Naloxone, commonly known by its brand name Narcan, is a
life-saving medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose when administered promptly.
Overdose deaths are preventable, and with timely intervention, many lives can be saved. However, the effectiveness of Naloxone relies on proper knowledge and training in its administration. That
is why I would like to extend an offer to provide free Naloxone training to any interested party in Northport.
This training will equip individuals with the skills necessary to act quickly and confidently in
the event of an overdose emergency. Our goal is to build a more resilient and informed community where residents are empowered to act in times of crisis. I believe that by spreading awareness and ensuring people are trained, we can help reduce
the number of preventable tragedies in our area.
If you are interested in participating in or organizing a Naloxone training session, please feel
free to contact me at 516.361.6540 or info@ndatf.org.
Let’s come together to make our community a safer place for all.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
