Be Aware of Our Resources

Whether you are a parent, student, or community member, we understand that addiction and mental health challenges affect individuals, families, and entire communities emotionally, mentally, and physically. Loving someone struggling with substance use can be heartbreaking and overwhelming, which is why addiction is often referred to as a family disease. Its impact can extend beyond the home, affecting schools, workplaces, relationships, and the overall well-being of a community.

As a community, we must work together to educate, support, and protect those at risk while helping prevent substance misuse before it starts.

For students, adolescence can be a time of curiosity, pressure, and risk-taking. It is important to recognize when certain choices may lead to harmful consequences. If you are questioning your own substance use or are concerned about a friend or loved one, please know that you are not alone. Your family, friends, and community care about you and want to help.

Below is a list of resources available to support you, no matter your situation. If you would like to speak with someone directly, please contact us at 516-361-6540 or email info@awareli.org. We are here to support you.

For Students

You are not alone. If you are questioning your use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or vaping — or if you are worried about a friend — we are here to help.

As a teen, it is natural to seek new experiences, take risks, and explore your identity. However, some choices can lead to unhealthy or dangerous consequences. If you feel like you may be struggling, heading down an unhealthy path, or concerned about someone you care about, know that support is available and you do not have to face it alone.

If you need to talk to someone, please contact us at 516-361-6540 or email info@awareli.org. We are here to support you.
